Treatment of Temporomandibular Pain
Very often we wake up with pain in the temporomandibular joint and this
is often attributed to involuntary
grinding or clenching of the teeth.
The result of bruxism is:
- The detachments of enamel from the roots of the teeth
- Gum recession
- Susceptibility to caries
- Sensitivity development to temperature changes in worn teeth, often
resulting in pain, particularly in response to cold stimuli.
When
- Teeth grinding during sleep (clenching - bruxing)
- Pain in the temporomandibular joint
- Worn natural dentition
How
- Occlusal Splints - Bruxism Splints
These splints are applied to the chewing surfaces of the teeth, serving
to protect them while also aiding in the relaxation of the chewing muscles.
